makes no bargains, for there is no transaction, no guardian:
knows its own otherness:
ends gazing at ocean: the blurred, blurring horizon.
DAYS IN ACADEMIA Clearly he did not see me glow. He did not see the aura, the shimmer, the sweet tickle of light emanating from the meeting of my perfections and imperfections. (He certainly did not kneel to the glow.) He offered beef jerky, concentrated orange juice, day-old pretzels. I considered Italian wines. I mentioned. He shrugged. Accidentally, we nodded in unison and took the chance of that moment to turn away. |

DIVINING FOR STARTERS (62)
If I could have tendered, you might have
always trying to find the straight line between us
with and without tongues, which is to say
the mere mention of a wolf spider, that viscerality
wine on my mouth opening
the crash of bodies
after conversation without pause
that winding stair
