Stephen Romer
Since the original era of Molly Bloom, Stephen Romer has lived and taught in France, mainly, with "outs" to the US... He has published four full collections of poetry, the latest being Yellow Studio (Carcanet / Oxfordpoets), which was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize 2008. He has published many translations of modern French poetry, including two anthologies, 20th Century French Poems (Faber, 2002) and (with Jennie Feldman) Into the Deep Street: Seven Modern French Poets (Anvil, 2009). Recently his translation of Yves Bonnefoy's The Arrière-pays (Seagull, 2012) was published to acclaim, and his anthology of fin-de-siècle stories Decadent French Tales (Oxford World's Classics) will be published in May 2013.
